This website is intended to provide users with relevant information about the novel therapy based on high dose thiamine administration. The clinical observations made on a number of autoimmune and neurodegenerative diseases such as Fibromyalgia, Parkinson Disease, Essential Tremor, Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 2, Huntington Disease, Cluster Headache, Migraine, and many more suggest that this treatment is a powerful aid to the classic therapy to enhance the benefits for the patient while reducing collateral effects of the traditional drugs.
Starting from 2011 an Italian neurologist, Dr. Antonio Costantini, has been studying a therapeutic protocol for the treatment of a number of symptoms in the aforementioned diseases.
Dr. Costantini, together with Neurologist Dr. Roberto Fancelly, Environmental Scientist Dr. Marco Colangeli and nurse Ms. Maria I. Pala, began to research methodically the interactions of thiamine in their patients. This work has been documented in a number of peer-reviewed articles published on major case-report journals between 2013 and present. Said articles discussed this research and refined the therapy further. More than a dozen of papers have been published by the group of Dr. Costantini to date and our work continues.
Dr. Costantini offers consultancy services to patients in his ambulatory in Viterbo, Italy and to date he has more than 2,500 patients affected by various neurodegenerative and autoimmune diseases treated with success using the high dose thiamine therapy in addition to the classic medical treatments for each disease.
This site is the response to the increased popularity of the protocol devised by Dr. Costantini and his group to inform patients and practitioners about the promising opportunities offered by the high dose thiamine treatment for the neurodegenerative and autoimmune disease discussed.
In order to be accessible to every patient in the world, the High Dose Thiamine protocol requires approval from the various international Drug Administrations. A multi-location randomized double-blind placebo-controlled trial covering a representative number of patients and spanning over the relevant time frame is necessary for informing scientifically and with statistical significance on the effectiveness of the therapy, understand and describe its mechanisms and potentially further improve its efficacy.
To this end we have started a GoFundMe campaign to support this endeavor with the goal to raise the necessary amount of funds to finally mainstream and prove the High Dose Thiamine therapy.
